After a painful journey that involved spending a night in LA and a night in Honolulu, as well as lost luggage and time, we made it to Kona, Hawaii. Yes, getting there was painful, but it was worth it. We visited a coffee farm, Volcano National Park, a couple of beaches, waterfalls, and drove around the whole island.
Above all, we had a lot of fun at the resort where we were staying. Sophie loved the trains, boats, and birds there, and of course, all the water and sand! The sunset and the luau were especially memorable. When we left New Jersey, it was below freezing point with ground covered in inches of snow, so sunny days with temperatures between mid-60s to high-70s was a really welcome change!
